Whatever exercise you undertake you should find it enjoyable. Healthy eating combined with exercise has proved to be the most effective way to reduce body fat.

The combination for health and fitness is anaerobic exercise and aerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercise uses resistance equipment machines, weights or bands. Aerobic exercise is anything that raises the heart rate and includes swimming, power walking and racquet sports to name just a few.

Once you find a sport or exercise activity you like your half way to being fit and healthy for the rest of your life, as long as you participate on a regular basis.

If you have not exercised before or for a long time then you should consult your doctor before doing so. Maybe start with some brisk walks a couple of times per week.

Being consistent is one of the most important things in any exercise regime, it is no good exercising on four occasions one week and then having three weeks off. It would be better to exercise once a week every week.

Whether you enjoy group fitness classes or a game of football try to do something you enjoy and do it on a regular basis.
