How to build six packs

Home / How to build six packs

If you want to build a six pack you will need to get your body fat level down to around 10%. The best way to do this is to follow the Wave Eating Plan available from us here at diet and six packs.

Abdominals are a muscle like any other and they respond to progressive overload. Performing hundreds of reps of low intensity will not stimulate muscle development.

The abdominals should not be trained on a daily basis as this leads to overtraining, daily workouts of low intensity are counter productive. The abdominals receive indirect stimulation from a variety of exercises, direct workouts for the abdominals should only be performed three times per week.

Abdominals should be trained in the rep range of 10-15 per set anymore than 15 and your training for endurance rather than muscular development. During an abdominal workout keep the total reps you do in all your sets to under 100, if you can do more than this number of reps then you are not using enough resistance.

Please realise you cannot reduce the size of your waist by doing thousands of crunches, this will not burn fat from around your mid section. The only way to reduce the size of your waist is to reduce body fat levels through a combination of diet and exercise.
